Correia da Silva Advogados – CSA started its activities in 1999, based on a wish of the partner Rodrigo A. Correia da Silva, at the time newly qualified in Law by PUC/SP, to advise those companies which had matters about Regulatory Administrative Law, particularly in public bidding and regulatory matters in the health sector, as well as to represent them in the Judiciary.
In the year of 1999, Brazil underwent major changes in the economic field, including several privatizations and structural changes, like the creation of regulatory agencies. In this context, the expertise in the field of specialized law, aligned with the needs of companies, became an opportunity to define the trajectory of CSA.
The office started small with a big dream: to contribute to the development and sustainability of private initiative through application of the law.
It did not take long for the CSA to consolidate itself as a reference in attendance of companies, but also in attendance of associations and entities from various sectors.
The second phase of CSA´s development came with the diversification of its areas of practice in business law, including contracts, corporate, business litigation, tax law, labor law and environmental law, in order to attend all legal needs of their clients.
Sometime later, the CSA team was trained to act in economic law and arbitration.
When attending companies and especially corporate representation entities, the CSA is increasingly involved in the analysis and discussion of sectoral issues from the perspective of public policies, regulatory framework and legislative process. Becomes everyday the interculation with the respective formulators and influencers.
In 2007, Correia da Silva Advogados received a request for a work proposal for the creation and implementation of a Governamental and Institutional Relations project. When assessing the objectives and activities described there, the law firm realized that it was already acting for some time in this practice.
An intense exchange of information and research on how the activity is carried out in Brazil and in more mature democracies led to the structuring of a dedicated team to Governmental and Institutional Relations, complemented by the opening of our branch in Brasilia.
Recently, the office added the practice in Compliance and Customs Law in its portifolio, in order to offering efficient and integrated solutions to its clients for the correct application of the law, through Consulting or Litigation.
Acting in an ethical and transparent way, with a holistic view of the legal, economic, social and political systems, we have the opportunity to realize a dream even more comprehensive and that goes from the contribution to the design to the operation of law, regulation and public policies.
Our purpose is to face intellectually stimulating challenges by offering convergent useful services with the development of Democracy and Rule of law in Brazil.
