Recess and negotiations in Brasilia
The last work week of the year in the Congress promises to counterpoise tranquility and negotiations aimed at next year, since the vote on the Pension Reform has been postponed to February 2018. Corroborating to Congress tranquility, the plenary is expected to be empty considering that the deliberation of the Annual Budget for 2018 took place last week. And, the fact that the Senate already closed the year’s activities last week.
On Tuesday, 19, all eyes will focus on the national PMDB convention; which among other topics, should rename the party to MDB.
However, even with an empty Chamber, work tends to be normal. The Plenary of the Chamber of Deputies must meet this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for deliberation of matters; among them the Project that deals with the regulation of lobby activity (PL 1202/2007); the urgent project that deals with the encumber of the payroll (PL 8456/2017); and other drafts of International Agreements and Treaties.
In the commissions, even some of them having finished their work this year, we highlight the Committee on Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (CDEICS), which will analyze the draft of the Legislative Decree that promotes Interministerial Ordinance that monetarily updates the Conformity Assessment Rate and Rate of Metrological Services (PDC 230/2015), next Tuesday, 19.
The Special Committee on Road Transport of Loads (PL 4860/16) should deliberate and vote on the vote of the rapporteur, Mr Nelson Marquezelli (PTB/SP), on Tuesday, 19. On the same day the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission (CCJC) with an extensive agenda will hold a deliberative meeting to vote on projects. The meeting will resume with the remaining matters on Wednesday, the 20th.
On Wednesday, June 20, the Finance and Taxation Commission (CFT) will hold a Public Hearing on “Collection of Fines and Charges within the Federal Revenue and Attorney General’s Office” with the presence of the Federal Revenue Secretary, Mr. Jorge Antonio Deher Rachid; a representative of the Attorney General of the National Treasury; one of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB); one of the Commercial Association of São Paulo (ACSP); one of the Federation of Shopkeepers of Minas Gerais (FCDL); one of the Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism National Confederation (CNC); and the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA).
